Several modern supercars will join the classic cars at the annual Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed sale for one of the most exiting British auction line-ups in recent years. The latest hyper cars announced for the sale include a 2012 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (estimate $2.3-2.4 million), a 2011 Aston Martin One 77 Q-Series (estimate $2.2-2.4 million) and a 2014 McLaren P1 (estimate $1.7-2.3 million) – all exceptionally low-mileage examples from a single owner.

The annual Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed sale is held on 13 July 2018 during arguably the most important motoring event in Britain. It takes place at Goodwood near Chichester in the south of England.

The Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed sale is usually the most important of the three Goodwood auctions Bonhams holds most years. The Goodwood Members sale is in mid-March while the Goodwood Revival sale in September is usually a great occasion for historic cars.

The Goodwood auction record, also the British auction record, was set in 2013 when $29,650,000 (£19.6 million) was paid for a 1954 Mercedes Benz W196R Formula 1 single-seater racing car. At the time, it doubled the highest price paid for a car at auction and it is currently still the third most-expensive car ever sold at public auction.

Although the highlight of the Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 is likely to be the 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato ‘2VEV’, several modern hypercars are also likely to attract keen bidding.

Some of the most exiting are from a single owner. Details are still sparse but all are one-owner, very low-mileage cars:

  • One of the highlights of the single-owner collection is the ferociously powerful 2012 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (£1,700,000-1,800,000), officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world thanks to its top speed of nearly 267 mph. It is the last example built and has covered a mere 550 miles from new.
  • A second extremely rare supercar is the 2011 Aston Martin One 77 Q-Series (£1,600,000-1,800,000). Only 77 of these models were built, and only 7 of those were the Q-Series special editions such as this. This car covered only 330 km from new.
  • A further supercar with little more than delivery mileage is the 2014 McLaren P1, (£1,300,000-1,700,000) which has covered only 80 miles under its single ownership. Capable of a heady 217 mph, this successor to the legendary McLaren F1 is still one of the most desirable supercars of recent years.

Other modern low-mileage supercar highlights at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 218 sale include:

  • A 2016 Pagani Huyara (estimate £1,300,000-1,600,000) – one of only 100 built and one of only 4 supplied to the UK. This rare right-hand drive Pagani comes with only 7,650 miles on the clock.
  • A 2012 McLaren MP4-12C (£100,000-150,000) – one owner and 430 miles from new.
  • A 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish S (£110,000-140,000) – 1,100 miles from new.
  • A 2018 Rolls-Royce Dawn Drophead Coupé (£190,000-230,000) with only 14 miles from new.
