A 2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach G650 V12 Biturbo Landaulet – one of only 98 ever built – will be sold at the Bonhams The Zoute Sale in Belgium on 6 October 2017 on behalf of Daimler AG to benefit the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. This will be the first time ever that a Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet will be offered at public auction with Bonhams expecting the result to exceed the list price of €630,000 plus VAT.

Bonhams The Zoute Sale 2017

Bonhams annual The Zoute Sale will be held on October 6, 2017, at Place Albert de Knokke Le Zoute in the Belgian seaside resort town Knokke-Heist. Highlights already announced include a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona and a 1969 Ferrari 365 GTC Coupe but these may be overshadowed – definitely in size, but possible also in price – by the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet.

2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach G650 Landaulet

The ultra-rare Zoute 2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach G650 V12 Biturbo Landaulet SUV was launched at the Geneva motor show, and by the time the show came to a close, the other 98 vehicles had already been sold. The production allocation for this particular vehicle was retained by Mercedes-Benz with the express purpose of supporting the Laureus Sport for Good foundation.

As such, this will be the first time that any of the vehicles made will come to public auction, making this an exceedingly rare opportunity to own one of the most impressive, luxurious and sought-after 4×4 vehicles ever created. Due to the significant interest shown at the launch in Geneva, Bonhams expects the car to surpass its list price of €630,000 + VAT (payable in the country of import).

Housing the potently powerful Mercedes AMG V12 biturbo engine, capable of producing 630bhp, with a peak torque of 1000 Nm, this all-terrain vehicle is the perfect combination of performance and luxury. More than 5 meters long and 2 meters high, with a ground clearance of half a meter thanks to its portal axles, it is hard to imagine a terrain that would even begin to challenge the G 650.

The fierce, angular exterior belies the limousine-inspired luxury within. Fully reclining individual seats with heated massage settings and fold-out leather tables serve to create the most comfortable ride conceivable, whilst a canvas roof which opens at the touch of a button.

Bonhams is waiving its fees and all proceeds of the sale will be donated in their entirety to Laureus Sport for Good, a charity of which Mercedes-Benz is a global partner. They will donate the full proceeds of the sale to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

The Laureus Sports For Good charity was founded in 2000 in response to Nelson Mandela’s declaration at the Laureus World Sports Award that ‘sport has the power to change the world.’ The foundation supports more than 100 programs in 40 countries, all of which are fighting to address issues surrounding health, education, gender equality, inclusivity and conflict resolution.
